Join the BTTM Booster Club!

You asked, and we answered! If you like a particular video we put out, it’s easier than ever to tell the whole world with the new buttons at the bottom of all bttm.net posts. These buttons let you share our videos across a multitude of sites. We’ve also got a new Twitter and a new Facebook Fan Page specifically for fans of The Machine to show off their support, to give input and, of course, to help others not let the machine get them down.

We really appreciate all of your support and all of the requests for this kind of stuff! We’ll be tweaking everything over the next few days, but it’s all fully functional right now, so jump in!

All 5 Machines Live Thursday Night!

Sketchblock Thursday is almost here!

It’s at the National Comedy Theater (347 W. 36th St., between 8th & 9th), the former home of Sketchblock Sundays. I wonder if they have anything to do with each other.

The great and friendly Chris and Paul Show, The High Scores, and maybe Chocolate Cake City will be performing. We will have some new material, some old material, and some old material played off as new material, with me in it. That’s right. All five machines!! Be there! What are you even waiting for?!

Get in line now!

Okay, I’ll admit…

We’ve had some problems behind the scenes that have delayed the start of new weekly videos. No, I’m not talking about the fact that Paul and I got into a fistfight on the 36th floor balcony and that Will had to tranq us both, or that Matt got pregnant (again), or even that Christina, Carlos and Ballard had to go visit their home planet for a quarp or three. No, none of that.

Paul’s old camera exploded (don’t worry, he was able to throw it into the river just in time to save The City). The mayor, grateful for Paul’s selfless efforts to protect the people of Manhattan, gave Paul a new HD video camera (“Betsy”). Unfortunately, Betsy uses a type of media from the future, and no computer from our time could understand it’s complex data. Luckily, as a traveler of the sands of time myself, I took Paul to the future, where we were able to grab a computer from a Grand Time Wizard/Director of Photography who, frankly, seemed to have bigger problems on his hands if you know what I mean (hippopotamus people). Anyway, with the future-computer in hand, we arrived back in the present.

With his new computer in hand, Paul has been working vigilantly with Ballard to get the last few weekly videos we shot edited. This is important because we’ll be airing them reverse chronologically. I don’t know what that means, really, as I am only a level 3 Time Wizard. I think it means new videos are coming soon, though.

Oh, and check it out: I saw the future and we’re going to be performing on the 27th of August at the new Sketch Block Thursday! In addition to performing with our buddies Chocolate Cake City, we will be performing some new material, some old material, and some old material played off as new material, with me in it. That’s right.

Tons of New Videos On Their Way, Website Update, and a New Collaboration!

Howdy Machinerinos!

I hope you’re having a great summer! We’ve been hard at work creating a HUGE load of videos just for you. I even went out to New York City to pitch in! Weekly New Video Mondays will be starting back up soon, and trust me, you’re going to laugh your ass off. As if that’s not enough, we’re also going to have bonus Wiseass Wednesdays (Humpday Hillarity? We’re still working on the name) with a different kind of videos. Shorter. Faster. Stronger. Wait, that might have been the Six Million Dollar Man (Matt Gallo).

Speaking of pitching in, I’ve update the entire website. I would particularly recommend taking a look at the About The Group page. All that show information you keep bugging me to add back to the website has been added back to the website, except BETTER. See? Democracy works.

Finally, BetterThanTheMachine.net will be collaborating with The Outhouse, one of the premier geek websites on the Internet. I do not know why it is called “The Outhouse,” because I personally found it very difficult to find a bathroom on their site. Six Dollar Machine Matt Gallo (you read that right) will be picking videos to post weekly on The Outhouse website; all of you should go check it out and post on their forums about how great we are. Also, you can post about other things, especially if you’re a geek, and deep down, you know you are.

It’s a little quiet around here, a little too quiet… or is it?! (No.)

Boy, it sure has been quiet around here on BTTM.net lately. Behind the scenes, though, we’re making lots of noise. We’re working hard on some things we think you’re gonna dig. First off, we’re working on a bevy of special new videos with our senior video director Ballard C. Boyd. I don’t necessarily want to say what’s special about these videos, so let’s just call this little operation Veekly Wideos ’09. Yeah, that’s a good codename. Make sure to check back for more information on that project!

Second, we’re starting work on a brand new live show with our stage director Will Nunziata. Right now it’s just called Show 9, for reasons too difficult to explain. We’re very excited about it, and encourage you to move to New York City if you haven’t already, so that you can line up for tickets now. Don’t miss out just because you live in Brazil!

Finally, as a YouTube partner, we got a chance to try out the new YouTube channel designs ahead of time. Check it out, and watch some videos while you’re there!

More news as it unfolds! Don’t let the machine get you down!

BTTM’s Foreplay Goes Platinum!

It’s official! “Foreplay?”, one of our YouTube classics, has passed the threshold of one million views as of today! In the video, a clueless Paul tries to seduce Christina, but fails miserably. Take a look at that big ol’ number of viewers for yourself as you watch Foreplay? a few more times on its way to two million one billion views!

Woohoo!

We’ve Been Nominated For a MAC Award!

Hey everyone, I have some exciting news, we’ve been nominated for a MAC award. MAC stands for, the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs. Only four other groups were nominated so it’s a pretty big deal. An awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 6 at BB Kings Blues Club, located on 237 west 42nd Street. Anyway, here’s hoping we win!

REV SHARE DEAL WITH YOUTUBE

Hey everyone just thought I’d let you know we’ve recently entered into a revenue sharing deal with Youtube. They consider us big contributors, and because of this we could stand to make a little money, yay! Basically, they’ll put some commercials on our videos and we get money for how many times those videos are played. We also get new branding options for our Youtube page, so check that out, it looks pretty. Hope everyone had a good New Years.
