Thanks to everyone who came out to Salon des Refusés to support us and drink beer with us!

Better Than The Machine’s video director extraordinaire and good friend Ballard C. Boyd released a new music video today for Kristin Andreassen’s “Crayola Doesn’t Make a Color For Your Eyes”. The song itself has already won the John Lennon Songwriting Award, and has been featured on A Prairie Home Companion. It also features animations by Wes Mallgren, another good friend of the group whose animations have augmented tons of our videos.
So what are you even waiting for? Check out the video right now! It’s got breakdancing kids, for the love of Pete! And, boy howdy, do we love Pete.
–Reid.
P.S. As much as I love this video, I can’t help but feel that if Better Than The Machine had anything to do with this, we’d have to call it “Krayola Does Not Feature a Color For An Unspecified Person and/or Animal’s Eyes”.

Howdy Machinerinos!
I hope you’re having a great summer! We’ve been hard at work creating a HUGE load of videos just for you. I even went out to New York City to pitch in! Weekly New Video Mondays will be starting back up soon, and trust me, you’re going to laugh your ass off. As if that’s not enough, we’re also going to have bonus Wiseass Wednesdays (Humpday Hillarity? We’re still working on the name) with a different kind of videos. Shorter. Faster. Stronger. Wait, that might have been the Six Million Dollar Man (Matt Gallo).
Speaking of pitching in, I’ve update the entire website. I would particularly recommend taking a look at the About The Group page. All that show information you keep bugging me to add back to the website has been added back to the website, except BETTER. See? Democracy works.
Finally, BetterThanTheMachine.net will be collaborating with The Outhouse, one of the premier geek websites on the Internet. I do not know why it is called “The Outhouse,” because I personally found it very difficult to find a bathroom on their site. Six Dollar Machine Matt Gallo (you read that right) will be picking videos to post weekly on The Outhouse website; all of you should go check it out and post on their forums about how great we are. Also, you can post about other things, especially if you’re a geek, and deep down, you know you are.
Comics! Video games! Better Than The Machine!
Don’t let the machine get you down,

Paul and I will be appearing on Comedy Central’s Atom TV tonight at 1:30 AM EST (3:30 AM MST)!
Back in 2007, Paul and I appeared in a sketch by our friends The Royal We. The sketch, called “The Exotic Dancer”, is appearing on Atom TV (described as “The web’s best videos!) late tonight. If you can’t tune in, watch the full sketch here, online:

This Saturday, October 20th, NYC comedy house of satisfaction Mo Pitkin’s will be closing down for good. The ol’ place is going out in style though, with the premiere of the first episode of Jefferson Street, a new variety show.
There’s some music, there’s some comedy, and the reason it’s near-and-dear to Better Than The Machine’s heart is that one of the key players of Jefferson Street is BTTM alumni Chris Zalewski, who not only collaborated with us on the studio recording of Give A Shit earlier this year, but was also one of the first members of Better Than The Machine (he came up with the name “Better Than The Machine”!).
There will be live musical performances by The Imperialists and Glen Bingham, and of course the world premiere screening of the first episode of Jefferson Street. It’s five bucks and starts at 10:00 PM. Come check it out with us!

Although we didn’t make the top 20 in YouTube’s Sketchies, our good friend (and occasional BTTM contributor) Dave Burdick did. We’re throwing our full support behind his video Global Awesome. If you like videos that pretend to care about stuff, you’ll like his awesome take on global warming. Go vote for a brighter–and awesomer–future now!

We’ve had a blast these past six months performing Let Freedom Bling all over the City, and we sincerely appreciate the support and enthusiasm everyone has shown about the show and the group. We’re now taking a short break from performing while we work on our all new show. We hope to start showing off some new stuff in the next couple of months, so keep checking the website! We’re also very pleased to announce the addition of Will Nunziata of New York City powerhouse sketch comedy group The Royal We to Better Than The Machine as director and collaborator. For more info about Will, check out the Bios page.
Stay tuned!
