Facebook Fan Page Update

Howdy!

First off, no longer do you have to type http://www.facebook.com/we89rf-gobbly-gook-477-better-than-the-machine-39u9-random-letters-and-numbers-matt-gallo-rules to reach our Facebook fan page! Now you can find us at the much simpler and easy to remember facebook.com/BetterThanTheMachine.

Second, we are working diligently to make it even easier for you to reach our Facebook fan page, but the technology to read the brain patterns of our fans just isn’t safe enough to use on fans yet. We set Carlos on fire three times last week while trying to get thought-based navigation to our Facebook fan page to work, and you can rest assured that we’ll keep lighting Carlos on fire until we find a way for you to get to our Facebook fan page simply by thinking “I love Better Than The Machine,” whether or not lighting Carlos on fire and thought-based web surfing are related or not.

Finally, we’d just like to remind you what it means to be a Facebook fan of Better Than The Machine: you get weekly updates about our latest videos and shows in your Facebook inbox, you can post your own wacky videos for other BTTM fans to see (they don’t even need to be wacky!), you can talk to other fans, you can fight other fans, you will receive our monthly magazine Better Than Time Magazine: The Official Better Than The Machine Fanzine* and soon you’ll be able to win actual prizes! Maybe even Official Better Than The Machine Fan Club decoder rings (not likely)! Or cards with your name and member id number on them (more likely)!

So what are you even waiting for? Sign up today and start doing all that stuff I just listed.

–Reid.

*Better Than Time Magazine is on a temporary publishing hiatus pending the outcome of a totally unrelated libel lawsuit with Time Warner, and also unrelated, upon finding the editor of our magazine, who was last seen in Costa Rica carrying two large sacks with dollar symbols on them.

Join the BTTM Booster Club!

You asked, and we answered! If you like a particular video we put out, it’s easier than ever to tell the whole world with the new buttons at the bottom of all bttm.net posts. These buttons let you share our videos across a multitude of sites. We’ve also got a new Twitter and a new Facebook Fan Page specifically for fans of The Machine to show off their support, to give input and, of course, to help others not let the machine get them down.

We really appreciate all of your support and all of the requests for this kind of stuff! We’ll be tweaking everything over the next few days, but it’s all fully functional right now, so jump in!

bttm.net

Better Than The Machine’s website can now be accessed from the simple to remember http://bttm.net. The “b” stands for “Better,” the first “t” stands for “Than,” the third “t” stands for “The,” and so on.

Imagine it: less hand cramps from typing a long web address! An easy to remember web address that you won’t forget in your old age! Three options to get to the Better Than The Machine website: http://bttm.net, http://www.betterthanthemachine.net and http://www.betterthanthemachine.com; they all go to the same place, so pick your favorite or collect all three!

Don’t let the m get you down!

It is much easier to comment now.

I got rid of the ReCaptcha thing where you had to decipher words from books. Hopefully this will encourage more commenting on news stories! Eh, eh? Aw.

Oh, and thanks to Amy L. Kirner for updating the site’s backend, which means something totally different in web lingo than in comedy lingo.

Tons of New Videos On Their Way, Website Update, and a New Collaboration!

Howdy Machinerinos!

I hope you’re having a great summer! We’ve been hard at work creating a HUGE load of videos just for you. I even went out to New York City to pitch in! Weekly New Video Mondays will be starting back up soon, and trust me, you’re going to laugh your ass off. As if that’s not enough, we’re also going to have bonus Wiseass Wednesdays (Humpday Hillarity? We’re still working on the name) with a different kind of videos. Shorter. Faster. Stronger. Wait, that might have been the Six Million Dollar Man (Matt Gallo).

Speaking of pitching in, I’ve update the entire website. I would particularly recommend taking a look at the About The Group page. All that show information you keep bugging me to add back to the website has been added back to the website, except BETTER. See? Democracy works.

Finally, BetterThanTheMachine.net will be collaborating with The Outhouse, one of the premier geek websites on the Internet. I do not know why it is called “The Outhouse,” because I personally found it very difficult to find a bathroom on their site. Six Dollar Machine Matt Gallo (you read that right) will be picking videos to post weekly on The Outhouse website; all of you should go check it out and post on their forums about how great we are. Also, you can post about other things, especially if you’re a geek, and deep down, you know you are.

Comics! Video games! Better Than The Machine!

Don’t let the machine get you down,

This Internet Stuff Is Hard

Hey Everyone,

So I don’t know if anyone noticed but our web site betterthanthemachine.net was down for a few weeks. Apparently we had some bills to pay. You see Reid was always the one who took care of the web site and he is the owner of the site. Since Reid’s been ill, I’ve had to take on those responsibilities. Any way after a little while I finally found all the people who I was suppose to pay and paid them.

You also might have noticed that the featured video picture is not up dated. This is because I don’t have access to our ftp site. Thus, I can’t up date the web site. But I can make blog posts.

You also might have noticed that for the new video, “The Most Nonchalant Man In The World” there is only a link to the youtube page, and not an embedded video like there normally is. This is because there seems to be some sort of a privacy setting on our site where only the admin (Reid) can embed videos. If I put in the html to embed a video the web sit immediately deletes it. But it does allow me to do the html for linking to web sites. This seems very silly to me.

Anyway, you’ll have to bare with us. I hope that answers any questions people might have had. Keep checking back we should have more videos coming soon, and we’re starting to get into doing corporate events (WHOO!) so I hope to post our demo for that with in the next couple of days.

Take care,
Paul

As I mentioned before, we’re still in the process of bringing the new site online. If you notice any problems, chances are we’re working on hammering them out. Thanks for your patience!

New Website!

Amy L. Kirner designed this new site for us. We’re going to be fine-tuning it over the next few days. This new site will let us update easier, which means more of us will be posting and more often, so make sure to check back often for new content!

Don’t let the machine get you down,
