New Video Monday – Give A Shit

Today we’re excited to be releasing our first ever music video! It’s called “Give A Shit”. It was originally presented as the finale to our last show, Let Freedom Bling. You can download an MP3 of the song here if you like Better Than The Machine, but don’t like looking at Better Than The Machine. It’s also good if you want to put the song on your iPod.

You can also listen to the song on our new music MySpace. Add it to your MySpace profile! Memorize all the words! Remix it!

A lot of work went into recording this song. I played guitar, Matt played bass, and Christina, Matt, and I all sang. But that was the easy stuff.

We recorded the song in January at Serious Business Productions, where it was engineered and mixed by Travis Harrison. Travis also played drums and percussion like a pro on the recording. This is because he is a pro. Additionally, our friend Chris Zalewski lent his piano-playing prowess to the recording, as well as some great harmonizing vocals. Chris is in an awesome rock ‘n roll band from Brooklyn called Eisenhower that we whole-heartedly recommend. We appreciate all of both Chris and Travis’s hard work!

A lot more work went into filming this video than our previous weekly videos. Our friends Dave Burdick, a newly-transplanted-to-NYC-from-Boulder comedian, and Wes Mallgren, a yeti animator, both filmed us extensively for the video, which we thoroughly appreciate. Will Nunziata, the director of our new live show, also filmed a bit and makes a cameo in the video. Thanks Will!

We hope you enjoy watching the video and listening to the song as much as we enjoyed making them. As always, make sure to check back next week for a brand new video!

New Video Monday – Granny Panties by Victoria’s Secret

Actual Better Than The Machine conversation:

Reid, to Christina: We want to do some videos where you’re something other than the girlfriend, or the wife, or the desperate housewife.

Christina: How about this?

We like this video and we hope you like it too. We just want to be clear that we’re not misogynists. And neither is Christina. Check back next Monday for another brand-new video!

Our Next Entry For Project Breakout: Double Feature!

For our entry into the semi-finals of Project Breakout, we’ve entered Double Feature, our spoof 1950′s trailer featuring Paris Hilton in “It Came With No Talent!” and “Tom Cruise: The Wolf-boy”. Although voting is closed to the public this round, you can see our entry along with judges comments (once they make them) here. You can also post comments of your own! What an age we live in.

New Video Monday – Twix Parody: Excessive Force

Breaking with our recent trend of making videos about holidays, today’s video is not about Tax Day. It is about Twix, black people, and police brutality. Special thanks to our friend Kaseem for playing a very convincing black person. Check back next Monday for another brand-new video!
